Another heat wave!

Yep!  I thought MAYYYYYBE we might get to go home, but the Bootheel and most of the Midwest are in the grip of another heat wave.  Temperature is ninety-four degrees, and Susie is traipsing about barefoot on a sidewalk hotter than a match head.
How hot did you say???

Ninety-four degrees Fahrenheit.  Heat index is one-ten.
Note that Wunderground says it'll be equally hot tomorrow.  To add insult to injury there's no rain forecast for the foreseeable future.  Hey, alliteration!
Noooooo, it's gotta rain!!!

It poured weekend before last, Susie!  We've still got puddles here and there.  But yeah, it's warm enuff that Susie's message tag is showing its message without my help.
Granted, it doesn't take much heat to activate the heart.  Usually my cupped hands do the trick.

Batten down the hatches, Susie!  Friday's high is supposed to hit a hundred, WITHOUT help from the heat index.  It's been a devil of a summer...and it's not over yet.

Yours uncomfortably,

  1. You only miss the sun when it starts to snow.
Carry on, keep on keeping on, and all that jazz.

    1. LOL, yeah, Mama and I talked about how we gripe when it's hot and gripe more when it's cold. There's no satisfying us!

  2. I don't like the heat. The doll burns her feet, her expression says it all.

  3. Hot time, summer in the...bootheel I guess. We've had a pretty mild summer really. It's been a little hotter this week, but we still had a day in between where it didn't get past the 70's. Like Disco...luckily.

  4. It's gross down here in Alabama too, though not as bad as where you are in the thick of it. 93 with an index of 100 in Freedomheit right now. I couldn't be happier to work from home.

    1. Ooo, lucky! I work in an air-conditioned building, but Mama and I still have to drive to and from work and the car's A/C is on the blink.

    2. Got that 2/50 AC system. My first car had that, lol. This right here is "get everything done before 10AM" weather. At least we don't have any wildfires.

    3. Oh Lordy, THAT is true! No wildfires, no floods, and that's the way that I want it to stay.
