It's not 2027 yet!!!

Hell's bells, we're not even halfway through 2026!!!  But Girl of the Year 2027 has already leaked.  Her name is Daisy Davenport, she appears to be another white doll, and she's another athlete as well.

She's also attending the same summer camp that Molly McIntire attended in 19...1944?  1945?  One of them two years.  The wiki says 1944 so that's what I'll go with.  So that would have to mean that the events of Changes for Molly occurred before the A-bombs got dropped.  Anyway, does this mean that Daisy will be a redhead?  She kinda looks that way on the book cover.

It's still too early to know for sure what Daisy will look like or what her collection will be like, but if that shirt she's wearing is any clue she'll probably be fond of pink.  And why is she leaking so early?  I remember American Girl leaking Lila Monetti early too and feeling that Lila railroaded Kavi Sharma a bit.  And of course, Reddit is exploding about the lack of diversity again.  I mean, it HAS been ten years since Gabby was in our lives.  Her story and her collection were thrown together, and we haven't had a black Girl of the Year since!  A couple'a redditors suggested that maybe, since we're doing the whole "modern girl descended from a historical girl" thing, a future Girl of the Year could be descended from Addy.  That would be epic!  Buuuuut, I'm not holdin' my breath.

Just about every Girl of the Year has tempted me a little since Kavi Sharma's day, but I've yet to bring any of 'em home.  I'll have to see Daisy's actual pictures before I make a final decision, but what say y'all?  Are y'all making judgements yet like I am, or is it too dang early?
