Now to the topic at hand. About five days ago I learned that C.A. Cupid was scheduled to get a G3 release as part of the Scary Sweet Birthday line, and yesterday youloveit.com got ahold of the doll's stock photos, as did the Monster High wiki. This is her; her official name is now Cupid Asteria, which I think is kinda pretty.
I wonder if she still believes that not everything can be solved with an equation??? Overall I'm pleased with how she looks, I like that some of her G1 features were retained (like her lacy stockings and her bow and arrow bracelet), and I'm pleased that she's getting a reboot. But already folks on Reddit are talking about how they don't like her coloring, don't like her hair, don't like this, don't like that. One redditor compared her to Effie Trinket (kinda a fair comparison, actually), and some are going as far as to say she's downright ugly. I personally think Cleo de Nile is the weak one of the bunch, largely because of her square hairline, but they're all pretty awesome dolls (Frankie and Draculaura are also part of the line). In fact, I think Cupid stands out the best, because her getup doesn't incorporate a lot of black; Frankie, Cleo, and Drac all go heavy on the black, albeit paired with their favorite colors.
The one thing I DON'T like about this line (besides Cleo's hairline, which I can get over) also has nothing to do with Cupid. The ghouls are celebrating Draculaura's Sweet 1600 all over again. Uh...she HAD a Sweet 1600...when was that??? <glances at the wiki> It was December of 2011. Based on that Drac should be 1614 now, but oh well. It's still a cute doll line, and Cupid is invited, just like she was at Drac's last Sweet 1600! Clawdeen and Clawd both got left out this time around, sad face. Back to Cupid now, I think that compared to some of the other G3 dolls (Lagoona Blue) she's pretty faithful to her old self. Here's stock pictures of both Monster High Cupid and Ever After High Cupid; they're pretty different, but I like and own both of them (MH Cupid's head is sadly turning yellow, dern it).
But what say y'all??? I like hearing y'all's opinions, and I want to hear from my Monster High fans: hit or miss on the new Cupid? If a miss, what would you change about her? Please discuss.

I'm not sure if it's the eyes or the facial expression or what, but something about this Cupid doll is making me think of Lizzie Hearts from Ever After High. But that's probably just me.

Yeah, I think it's the expression. If folks on Reddit aren't slandering, redesigning, or defending Cupid, they're commenting on her grump. I think she's got a resting bitch face, like I do.
