Deck the halls with...Brussel's sprouts?

That's the only thing I can think of when we're talking cabbage, LOL.  It's weird:  I don't like full-grown cabbage, but I do like roasted Brussel's sprouts, especially with a little bacon dripping on them.  Anyway, I promised both Gillian Ida and Candela Laura new Christmas dresses, even though I LOVE the fall dress that Candela Laura has.  Idalia Gale also got something warm to wear, since her autumn dress was kinda short.
Low last night was around nineteen Fahrenheit, so that sweater was desperately needed.  I had heard that a La Nina was supposed to kick in at some point during this winter, but so far this has been a cold one, and with a sharp wind!  I could handle the cold, being hot-natured and all (seriously, I wore a T-shirt layered under a thick cardigan today, it's so warm at work), but that wind is for the birds.  Anywho, I don't know why I went the general winter direction for Idalia rather than Christmas, but at least she has something she can wear until spring rolls around.
Her sweater came from JeansAndMoreForDolls (they have some options for Baby Alive), and her jeans came from MrsBsOddities, one of my favorite places to shop.  Mrs. B resides in Missouri, so for me that means a fairly short shipping time...or it would if our post office didn't bite whale bubbles.  Oh, and y'all may or may not know that Cabbies wear diapers, right?  Mrs. B sent me an extra one.
Idalia already has a diaper, but one of my other dolls might need this extra one, LOL.  The shop also sent me a little purse.
Since it's orange I'll set it aside for next fall.

Gillian Ida isn't as bundled up as Idalia Gale is, but this dress is a heckuva lot better than that swimsuit in nineteen-degree weather.
SweetBlossomsCouture supplied this outfit, and big surprise, they're another of my favorite shops.  The dresses always come with little bloomers, though they don't have Christmas lights on them.  These are plain white bloomers.
I don't think I'd want Christmas lights on my drawers.  It sounds rather uncomfortable.  Anyway, SweetBlossomsCouture offers clothes for the regular sixteen-inch Kids, duds for Lullaby Kids/Hasbro/Play Along/any Kid that is fourteen inches (like Gillian Ida is), and stuff for the twenty-inch Toys R Us Kids.  This is a good thing, because Mama wants to redress my new twenty-inch Kid.  Let's say a quick hello to Autumn Leah.
Autumn Leah is a My Dream Baby, an obvious Cabbie Clone that I saw on Failbook and wanted/got.  She's got a few attributes that most of my Cabbies don't, like sleepy eyes and vinyl limbs, and I really like her.  I like her dress too, but Mama wants her to be dressed a bit brighter "like the others," as she put it.  So I have a few options if I so choose...but right now I like her the way she is.

Candela Laura's dress is from CrochetByNonny, who offers both Cabbie clothes and cute crocheted items (Mama likes the Grinch gnome the best).  I like this shop because the girls' outfits usually come with two little bows.
Most but not all of my girl Cabbies have hairstyles that accommodate two bows, and Candela is one of those girls so...well, two bows!
Her bloomers are even cuter than Gilly's; they're red with wonderful polka dots.
Life is always better with polka dots.

That leaves Shelley Fred still in Halloween garb.  I do have an outfit picked for him, but he's gonna have to wait until payday!  And to the rest of y'all, stay warm.  Most of y'all are north of me and probably are dealing with even colder temperatures than I am.

Frosty love,

  1. When it comes to cabbage, I prefer my cabbage leaves stuffed with a ground beef and rice mixture, rolled, and then baked in a tomato-based sauce. The dish is called holubtsi by Ukrainians and golabki by the Polish.
Gillian Ida's new Christmas dress seems to fit her well, and I'm glad she has a hairbow to go with it. Her hairstyle looks its best with a hairbow.
I do remember seeing a Cabbage Patch Kids baby with 'sleep eyes' once at the thrift store. At the time, seeing that reminded me of you. However, the doll was overpriced considering it was in heavily used condition. I'm not sure when it was made either.
Lastly, I'd keep an eye on Candela Laura's red polka dot bloomers if I were you. That bright color makes me nervous about staining.

    1. I know Cabbies did get made with sleep eyes, but I don't remember what they're called either. I'll speak to my friends on Failbook and get back to you. And I'll watch that red fabric closely. Candela's made of cloth, but I know cloth can stain too. I may give those bloomers a spin in the wash to make sure all the dye is out. And Gillian Ida will NEVER be without a hair bow! She and I are kindred spirits in that respect.

I've gotta admit, that cabbage dish sounds pretty good. My mom would be all over it like white on...well, rice!
